Palanpur: Two police officers were arrested on Thursday for helping two detainees escape from Sub Jail Siddhpur in Patan District on Wednesday night.
However, the fuggers identified as upendrasinh Chauhan and Devusinh Chauhan were arrested during the WEE Thursday from Prantij in Sabarkantha Regency.
Supervisor of Police Patan Akshayraj Makwana said that the Constable Jagdishsinh Head of Punabhai and Constable Jagdish Nanji was arrested for providing motorbikes to two robberies accused of escaping from prison.
The two detainees were Nabbed after an overnight operation by local Crime Patan (LCB) branch and a special operating group (SOG).
“The defendant was a resident of Satlasna Tallaka in Mehsana and was accused of robbery.
They fled sub-prison with the help of prison guards giving them a bicycle,” Makwana said.
Duo Defendant was in Siddhpur’s sub-prison since last month.
The bicycle used by the defendant was found near Kalol in the Gandhinagar district, police said.
