Paris: Two Paris Saint-Germain players have tested positive Covid-19 and the third is isolation, the club said on Wednesday a few hours before the Ligue 1 match in Lorient.
They are one of the few Ligue 1 clubs to reveal positive tests, although not at the same level as Britain, where the match raft has been postponed in the Premier League and a lower division.
Two positive PSG cases are German international defenders Thilo Kerer and 21-year-old French midfielder Eric Junior Dina-Ebimbe.
They “submit to the appropriate health protocol”, said their club.
Argentine international midfielder Leandro Paredes was placed in isolation on Tuesday “as a precautionary measure”, said PSG.
The third was played by the week in the 3-0 French Cup victory over Entente Feignies-Aulnoye.
The night game in Lorient was not in danger since then, under the latest French league protocol, a team can play if it has 20 players available, including the goalkeeper.
Along with the announcement of a positive test, PSG also released a list of 22 players who had traveled to Brittany.
They include Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos.
If the 35-year-old Spanish defender plays it will be the first time since joining PSG from Real Madrid in July that he has been able to appear in two consecutive matches.
He appeared in a league match in November and played 45 minutes at the Cup on Sunday.
The other Ligue 1 side has also reported a positive Covid-19 test.
The Bordeaux game against Lille will continue after they report no further players have been tested positively.
Nine of their team and six members of the back room staff were tested positive earlier this week.
Reims and Angers have also been affected by the first – who play Marseille – announce six positive tests: Four players and two staff.
Angers did not provide a number of positive tests but said they would delay their departure for Montpellier.
