Kolkata: The council for the inspection of the Indian School Certificate (CISCE), which conducted an ICSE test (class X) and ISC (class XII), on Friday announced the decision to divide each exam in the first two semesters, with the first semester.
The exam will be held in November this year in online and second semester mode in March / April 2022 both online and offline, depending on the number covid.
Each semester will cover around 50% of the syllabus.
The decision was taken to remember “the situation of sustainable pandemics in the country and disruption in educational activities …
due to the closing of the school”, said the council in a communique against the principal signed by Gerry Arathoon, chief executive and his secretary.
.
CBSE, too, on July 6 announced the same decision to divide the exam, adding the scheme would be continued outside the pandemic.
According to notice, the first semester exam for both class X and XII will consist of multiple choice questions (MCQ).
This will be held online.
The second semester can be online or offline, which will be consumed by the Board later, receiving calls based on the applicable pandemic situation.
“There will be no overlapping syllabus and the final value will be given based on performance in both exams,” said the source.
Question papers for each semester will be a sign of 80/100 for ICSE and 70/80 marks for ISC, in accordance with the maximum marks allocated for the theory component of each subject.
However, the weight of the sign for each semester – to finally be used to calculate the board results – will be taken to half.
ISC candidates will also have practices and projects, where the weight weights remain the same.
If the situation is possible, ISC practices will be held at school.
The Board has asked for school to maintain the right record of this assessment and said it might ask for school to send work samples made by candidates.
For ICSE candidates, internal assessments will also be taken into account, in addition to the semester exam.
The school will be asked to upload values for practice, project work, internal assessment, and Supw value with the date specified at the end of each semester.
While Cisce will conduct two semester examinations in class X and XII, he has clarified that it will not be involved in the exam for class IX and XI.
La Martiniere for the principal, John Stephen said there would be a “restriction” of teaching time.
“We have undergone a pre-puja test; now, there will be a post-puja test too …
we must somehow redeem it.
I believe the council will hire an IT team to compile the MCQ question paper in a way that there will be an automatic correction,” he added .
Heritage Principal, Seema Sapru, said: “We have calculated that there are 43 days before the pujas, at that time a lot of land must be borne.” Father Rodney Borneo, Principal, St Augustine’s Shyamnagar, feels new steps will bring assistance that is needed for students who are shaken under online overload.
