Thane: Two small boys sank in a hole full of water in the city of Thane Maharashtra, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place on Saturday in the Shivai Nagar area.
The victims, both were 11 years old, left their homes, but did not return after the police registered the case against unknown people under the Indian Criminal Code Section 363 (kidnapping), said Senior Inspector Sadashiv Nikam Nagar Nagar.
Their bodies were seen in muddy water holes located in the area around 2pm on Sunday, he said.
The local fire extinguisher fished the body from the hole, which was filled with heavy shower on Thursday and Friday, the official said.
The victims were identified as Abhishek Bablu Sharma and Krishna Manoj Good, he said.
Duo may have entered a hole for fishing or swimming, because their clothes were found nearby, and sank because they could not understand the depth, the police said.
The bodies were sent to the government hospital for postmortem and accidental cases of unintentional deaths, they added.
