Two teenage sisters were killed as bicycles, trucks collided near Chithode

Coimbatore: Two teenage girls, who are siblings, killed on Thursday night after the bike where they horse riding with a truck near the Chithode in the Erode district when they returned home after celebrating one of their birthdays.
The Chithode police identified the deceased when Nisha was 17 years old and her 19-year-old sister S Shalini, Elavamalai.
An investigative officer said Nisha’s birthday on Wednesday.
“The sisters went to a hotel in Kumarapalayam on Thursday night to celebrate birthdays along with their 17-year-old Nephew Subash.” When the trio returned home after the celebration, the officer said, their bicycle collided with a truck, who was heading to Cochin from Salem.
While Subash escaped with a minor injury, Nisha and Shalini surrendered to their severe injury in place.
Chithiode police have registered cases and initiated investigations.
