New Delhi: At least a third of the population surveyed in 11 countries is known to have developed Coronavirus antibodies, according to Serosurvey’s findings by the Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) conducted between June 14 and July 6.
Madhya Pradesh leads the chart with a seroprevalence of 79 percent while Kerala is in The bottom is 44.4 percent.
Seroprevalence in Assam is 50.3 percent and Maharashtra 58 percent.
The findings of the fourth round of the National Serosurvey conducted by ICMR in 70 Indian districts were divided by the Union Ministry of Health on Wednesday.
Seroprevalence was found 76.2 percent among the populations surveyed in Rajasthan, 75.9 percent in Bihar, 75.3 percent in Gujarat, 74.6 percent in Chhattisgarh, 73.1 percent in Uttarakhand, 71 percent in Uttar Pradesh, 70, 2 percent at Andhra Pradesh, 69.8 percent in Karnataka, 69.2 in Tamil Nadu and 68.1 percent in Odisha.
Referring to the findings, the Ministry of Health has advised the State and the United States to conduct their own Seroprevalence studies in consultation with ICMR to ensure that the study followed the standard protocol.
The serosurvei findings can then be used quickly by countries to guide the objective, transparent and evidence-based public health response to Covid-19.
“National Sero Survey by ICMR is designed to capture the extent to which the spread of Covid infection at the national level.
Therefore, the results of the National Serosurvey did not reflect the seroprevalence heterogeneity between the district and even between countries,” said a statement.
