Kolkata: Crime attacked two TMC activists and fired air outside one of the ruling party offices in the northern suburbs of the city, triggering panic in the area, a police officer said on Sunday.
Six people have been arrested so far in connection with the incident, he said.
“At least 10-12 people borne by motorbikes arrived at the Zonal Deshpriyonagar TMC party office at 24 pargana at around 9:30 p.m.
on Saturday, searching the furniture there and dragged two TMC activists before hitting them with the butt revolver,” officer explain.
They then fired a few shots into the air and escaped from the place, leaving the two injured activists lying on the road, he said, adding that the local population was alert to the house.
The incident, meanwhile, has triggered ugliness, with TMC holding BJP workers responsible for the attack, a charges were rejected by the Safron camp.
“BJP, after a disaster of the poll, was very trying to terrorize TMC workers.
We will take a rally in protest,” Local Mla Madan Mitra, who visited the site of the incident during the day, told reporters.
However, the BJP President of the State Dilip Ghosh, however, claimed that the attack was a fall in the dispute in TMC, with two factions that tried to have total control over the real estate sector in the area.
Meanwhile, in another incident, TMC MLA Yang Indah Moitra accused the pandal built for public outreach programs in the constituency of Dakshin “on fire” on Saturday.
“Some evil elements try to sabotage our program in the area.
They will not succeed,” Moitra said, then added that the police jammed this problem.
