Two trains collided in Simdega, services reach 24 hours

Ranchi / Gumla: The railroad movement between the busy heart-bondamunda route, which connects Jharkhand and Odisha, was influenced for almost 24 hours after two trains collided between Pakra and Kurkura train stations in the SIMDega district on Saturday night.

“Detailed investigations are on their way to ascertain the cause of a collision while the work is carried out on the war footing to restore movement at 5 pm,” said the Senior Division Operation Manager Aditya Kumar Choudhary to Ti.
However, repairs still last until 7:30 a.m.

In May this year, the Beiaia-Rourkela passenger train slipped into the soft earth with 84 passengers after rolling to the SIP siding line from the main line at Kanaroan Station along the same route.
In 2017, the loaded freight had rolled back in the same stretch and crashing into other goods train, instantly killed two Loco pilots.
