Bhubaneswar: The next Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be a woman as a State Housing and the Urban Development Department on Wednesday issuing the notification concept where the post has been intended for women in BMC and the Civic Agency is mixed.
According to him notice, the post is not unfortunate in the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).
Even though the previous woman led the Municipal Corporation and CMC, has been provided for them in BMC for the first time.
With the publication of the draft reservation for the Mayor’s post, the department has invited objections and suggestions from everyone who is interested in a 15-day period.
Objections and suggestions can be submitted with the Director, City Administration.
The last reservation list will be published after the disposal of objections and suggestions.
Because the state government has changed the city law, city corporate mayors will now be chosen directly by people living in the corporate area.
However, according to previous practices, Deputy Mayor must be chosen by Corporators from their own at the first meeting of the corporation.
