Kolkata: Two people were reportedly injured after being attacked by tigers in Sunderbans on Wednesday.
Both have been identified as MIHIR Sardar (55), a Jharthali-I resident, and Bablu Sardar (55), a Jharkhali-III resident.
Although there was no official confirmation of the exact location of the accident, whether the place was in the reserve area of Tiger or in the division forest area, the sources said Mihir was taken to Kolkata Hospital when his wounds were very serious.
Bablu is being treated at a canning hospital.
The source said the team consisting of four fishermen had departed for a trip on Wednesday afternoon, when the incident occurred.
“While the tiger attacked Mihir, Bablu tried to save him.
Mihir was seriously injured in his eyes and his ears, while Bablu received an injury to his left leg,” said a source.
