Palghar: Police have arrested two people for allegedly persecuting security personnel when they last questioned them for violating Covid-19 norms on the beach here in Maharashtra, an official said on Monday.
The incident took place on Sunday when police found the defendant consuming liquor and partying at Chinchani Beach in the Palghar District Vangaon area, he said.
Because the training order was in place near the water body in the district to examine the spread of Covid-19, the police questioned the defendant for violating the norms.
The two men were suspected of starting to abuse and hit the police, the official said.
They are then arrested and a registered case against them under relevant provisions, he added.
