Thiruvananthapuram: Fort police have arrested two people on charges of efforts to kill other men by attacking using sharp weapons.
Police identified the defendant as Nais, 25, and Rahul Khan aka then, 25.
Both are residents of Karakkamandapam.
Niyas, a resident of Karadom near the fort is a complainant in this case.
According to the police, the incident was related to this case lasting on Monday night in Killiplam.
Niyas, who worked at a poultry shop, traveled on his motorcycle when the two accused him away and hacked him using a sharp weapon.
The attack was motivated by personal competition.
The defendant believed that Niyas had spread false rumors about the boyfriend of one of the defendants and even threatened it through whatsapp.
The two defendants fled after crime.
They were tracked and arrested by a police team led by Fort Station House Officer Inspector J Rakesh, Karamana Sho Aneesh and Thampanoor Sho Sanoj.
The police have also recovered their motorbikes and weapons used in crime.
They are produced in front of the court and are returned in judicial detention.
