St.
John’s: International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that the Technical Committee for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2022 has approved Ronan Herrmann as a substitute for Joshua Stephenson in South African forces.
Stephenson has maintained a left hamstring tension and will not be able to take a further part of the event.
“Player replacement requires approval from the event technical committee before substitute players can be officially added to the squad,” the official release said.
The event’s technical committee consisted of chairman Chris Tetley (ICC Head of Events), Ben Leaver (ICC Senior Event Manager), Fawwaz Baksh (Director of Tournament) Holder Roland (CWI Representative) Alan Wilkins and Russel Arnold (both independent representatives).
South Africa will face Sri Lanka on Sunday night in the Super League play-off semifinals at Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua and Barbuda.
