Abu Dhabi: United Arab Emirates (UAE) sent aircraft carrying “urgent medical and food assistance to Afghanistan on Friday, the official WAM news agency said, almost three weeks after the Taliban took over.
“Help comes within the framework of the humanitarian role played by the UAE to provide full support for the Afghans of brotherhood in the current situation,” said WAM.
The UAE Foreign Ministry confirmed to AFP that “this is the first aid flight (Emirati) since the recent incident in Afghanistan”.
