Udaipur: With a decrease in Covid cases and the introduction of new flight destinations, Maharana Airport Pratap Udaipur recorded four-time growth in passenger footsteps in September compared to the previous year.
In September, more than 71,000 passengers were traveling from Udaipur airport which was the second highest footsteps in the Corona period.
Lake City has been the hottest destination for tourists this year.
The introduction of new flights to additional destinations has helped increase footsteps.
August and September are considered as a gloomy tourist season in Udaipur.
Nevertheless, in September, 71,477 passengers traveled from Maharana Pratap Udaipur Airport.
This is four times compared to the previous year.
In September last year, only 18,000 passengers traveled with a 750 aircraft movement.
Overall, even during the two-month season, the airport has a foot point of 1.35 lakh passengers.
Udaipur air connectivity also plays an important role in increasing passenger footsteps.
In recent months, many new flights start from Udaipur.
Direct flights to Mumbai started in the third week of August.
Direct flights from Jaipur and Chennai were introduced in September this year.
According to Nandita Bhatt, the Director of Udaipur Airport, tourism is taking momentum in Udaipur, “Many new flights have begun and we expect a new schedule soon.
We expect these footsteps to increase further than October with the onset of the tourism season.”
