Jaipur: The latest report on the genome sequencing shows that of the 88 positive tested samples, 87 is a Delta variant and one case is Kappa.
This report was issued on June 25.
Of the 87 Delta variants, 29 found in Udaipur, 17 in Jaipur, 15 in Bikaner, 15 in Jodhpur and 11 in Bharatpur.
Udaipur, where the highest number of samples tested positive for Delta variants, have reported the maximum Covid death in July.
In July, 29 people died of Covid in stating that 13 deaths were reported in Udaipur, contributing 44% of death.
According to the Sawai Hospital Man Singh (SMS), where the state government has established a recent laboratory of the genome sequencing, the Delta variant does not only dominate the second wave but most of the samples have been tested positively for variants.
“At 90% of cases, we found the Delta variant,” said Dr.
Sudhir Bhandari, principal and controller, SMS Medical College.
The Ministry of Health monitors the situation of the pandemic carefully.
The district has been directed to continue to send samples to sort the genome to find out if there are other variants circulating in the state.
The state in the first week of June has received a report on the sequencing of the genome, which shows that of 174 samples were positively tested for variants, 166 were tested positively for Delta variants while five Kappa variants.
Samples were collected in April-May.
In addition, among other variants, the country has reported 11 cases of Kappa variants, one Delta + case and several cases of Alfa variants to date.
