MUMBAI: A delegation led by Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray met prime minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday on the state issues.
The issues include the Maratha and OBC quota, cyclone Tauktae relief aid and the state’s pending GST dues, reservation in promotion issue, controversial Metro III car shed land in Kanjurmarg.
Thackeray said that he expects a ‘positive output’ from the meeting.
In a 90-minute meeting, CM Thackeray urged PM Modi to explore legal options to sort out the issues related to all reservations.
Thackeray pointed out that reservation issues were not only limited to the Maharashtra state but to other states too.
Hence the centre should intervene.
The chief minister said, “It was not a political meeting.
Although we are parted politically, we have personal rapport.
And nothing wrong with meeting our country’s prime minister.
Even if I decide to meet him again, there is nothing wrong in it,”.
The delegation comprises deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, public works minister, chairman of the state cabinet sub-committee for Maratha quota issue, Ashok Chavan.
On Monday, NCP president Sharad Pawar and deputy CM Ajit Pawar had a brief meeting with Thackeray.
