Mumbai: The days after Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari wrote a letter to the head of Minister of Uddhav Thackeray asked him to act on the demands of the leader of the opposition (LOP) Devendra Fadnivis, cm settled his reply on Friday.
Thackeray explained all the pointer registered in the governor in the letter three pages.
Overcoming the problem of carrying out a Maharashtra legislat session for only two days, CM stated that the decision was taken by the Business Advisory Committee, considering the Covid-19 situation that applies in the state.
“We must not forget that the second wave of Covid-19 is still not over.
There is also the threat of the upcoming third wave.
Therefore, the Monsun session will be kept briefly this time according to the business advisory committee decision and advice from the experts panel,” he wrote.
From the problem of the blank post speaker assembly, Thackeray told the Governor of Koshyari that even though the government was interested in the election for the post, it could not be done because of a pandemic.
“The task of the speaker is being handled by the Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal for now,” he added.
Thackeray also sought Governor’s help to resolve the delayed sensitive problem from the OBC quota with the center, to allow the Maharashtra government to start the right steps in this matter.
Fadniv has led the BJP delegation to Raj Bhavan on June 23 and has submitted two memorandum to the governor who is looking for an extension of the Monsun session, steps to fill the assembly speaker post and delay the election of a delayed local body.
