Udise + Report: School education added 42.3 students lakh in 2019-20

New Delhi: There are nearly 78% of schools in countries that still do not have an internet connection and although 4% surged in the last seven years in the number of schools with computers more than 61% of schools do not have a computer.
Although 84.1% of schools in India have a library or read room, only 69.4% of the school has a library with books.
More than 30% of schools do not have roads and almost 79% do not have a toilet to be disabled.
And more than 17% of our schools also do not have electricity facilities.
Apart from this, the latest unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE +) 2019-20 was released on Tuesday, also showed a significant increase in registration, gross registration ratio (GER) and gender parity index at various levels of school education in India.
As many as 26.45 crore students were registered in school education from pre-pratama to high school in 2019-20, higher by 42.3 lakh compared to 2018-19.
Women’s registration increased at all levels of school education in 2019-20 compared to 2018-19.
The highest increase in pre-primary (14.2%).
Udise + 2019-20 states that in 2019-20, the total students in school education from primers to secondary higher than 25.09 crores.

More than 82% of schools conducted medical examinations of students in 2019-20, an increase of more than 4% compared to the previous year, 2018-19.
In 2012-13, around 61.1% of schools conducted medical examinations for students.
About 38.5% of schools in India have computers in 2019-20, an increase of more than 4% compared to the previous year and an increase from 22.2% seven years ago, the base year quoted by the report.
Internet connectivity was also low at 22.3%, despite a significant surge from 18.7% in 2012-13.
