Bhubaneswar: Commission Grant University (UGC) on Friday gave recognition to Rajendra University Balangir and included in the University list.
The application of university to UGC for Grant of Recognition has been rejected by the Commission last year.
Education Minister Union Dharmendra Pradhan announced this on Twitter by posting the UGC letter to the university.

Even some members of Rajya Sabha, Balalangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo and the others have told me about this problem,” he added.

The Department of Higher Education has urged a commission to re-examine this problem and provide recognition to the university.
The Commission has rejected the application for the recognition of the University in December of last year by saying, “because the university has been notified through government notifications and not determined by state legislative actions, it cannot be included in the list of universities set as per section 2 (f) of the law UGC, 1956.
