The Grants University (UGC) Commission launched a recent academic work portal to help candidates who qualified clean / PhD connected with universities / colleges and other employers to get work.
More than 1 lakh net, JRF is clean, set and qualified candidates have been registered on the portal of the job but the latest updates on the portal say -‘no the latest post ‘job’.
Welcoming the decision, PC Joshi, Deputy Chancellor, University of Delhi (DU) said that the initiative of the UGC would help overcome the fate of candidates.
“The portal will work as a one-stop destination to disseminate information related to vacancies and minimize the dependence of candidates in various other sources including local newspapers, employment newspapers etc.
to stay updated about available jobs,” Joshi said.

On DU’s plan to post vacancies in Portal, Joshi said that the administration would install a job post on the website that was just launched immediately after it was needed.
UGC is not committed to recruitment
Higher education institutions in India face the lack of acute faculty.
Citing the example department, T Yadagiri Rao, Chair, Study Council, Public Administration Department & HRM, Kakatiya University, Warangal, Telangana, said that there were only two people including 23 sanction strength.
“Instead of creating a website to facilitate communication between job seekers and employers, it will be better if the Commission has initiated actions against the state and central universities because they did not fill in the empty position,” Rao said.
“UGC becomes the highest authority for higher education in the country must do something concrete to overcome the lack of faculty at the university throughout India,” Rao said.
Efforts to produce real data
Shitanshu Bharti, a guest faculty at DU holds that UGC’s work portal seems to breathe for candidates like him.
“The initiative taken by UGC is a welcome step.
However, the work portal efficacy will be decided from time to time,” he said.
