The wrong result was among the tests processed in the Health Immensa Clinic Lab between the beginning of September and this week.
This problem was found after several positive people for Covid-19 when they took a quick test to appear as negative on a more accurate PCR test.
“ About 400,000 samples have been processed through the laboratory, most of which will be a negative result, but estimated 43,000 people may have been given the wrong negative PCR test results, “ most in southwest England, said the health agency.
The agency mentioned the problem of an isolated incident that was associated with one laboratory ‘and said the affected people would be contacted and it was recommended to get another test.
One local authority in the UK, the West Berkshire Council, had told people tested on the Newbury showground site which was managed by the government between October 3 and October 12 and was told that they were negative to be tested again.
England did around 1 million Coronavirus tests a day and reported nearly 40,000 new infections a day during the past week.
