LONDON: Counter-terrorism police in the UK have arrested three people in connection with the explosion at the hospital on Sunday in the city of Liverpool who killed one person and hurt others.
The press association reported that counter-terrorism police said the three men, whose age ranged from 21 to 29, was detained in the Kensington area in the city.
The police were called to report a blast involving a taxi at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital on Sunday morning.
The police said the explosion was not declared a terrorist attack, but the police counter-terrorism led the investigation and men detained under the law of terrorism.
“ So far we understand, the car involved is a taxi, which stopped at the hospital shortly before the explosion occurred, the Merseyside police said in a statement.
“ The work still happens to assign what has happened and can take time before we are in a position to confirm something.
“Passenger male cars die and drivers are treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.
The police said they “ kept an open mind ” about what caused the explosion.
Liverpool’s Hospital said it immediately limited access to visits to further notice and divert patients to other hospitals “ if possible.
