LONDON: British Indians took part in the silent vigil in 40 cities and cities in England on Saturday as part of an appeal to end violence against minorities in Pakistan, especially Hindu girls.
The crowd gathered in cities such as Leicester, Edinburgh, Leeds and Slough, distributing pamphlets about forced conversions from Hinduism, Sikh and Christian girls in Pakistan.
“The Hindu and other minority situation in Pakistan is getting terrible,” the committee, UK Insight, an Indonesian Hindu and Indian community movement, told TII.
“They face regular kidnapping, conversion, attacks, and strong persecution.
Every year more than 1,000 small Hindu girls are kidnapped, forced to repent, marry those two or three times their age or are pushed into sex trafficking.

“In 1947, Pakistan had a minority population of around 31%.
Of these, around 24% – or 7.5 million – is Hindus.

The organization lobbied with members of the British parliament to increase its concerns with Lord Ahmad from Wimbledon, the Minister of South Asia.
It wants the British government to increase problems with Pakistan and urge the Indian government to ensure that the application of minority citizenship from Pakistan has been shelter in India accelerated.
