UK PM Johnson Under Fire Over Christmas Lockdown Party

LONDON: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson faces criticism on Wednesday after the video appears showing his staff laughing and joking about how to explain the meeting at Downing Street during the last Christmas when the celebration is prohibited.
Johnson and his ministers have repeatedly denied every rule broken by the meeting at the end of 2020, even though the mirror newspaper said Johnson spoke at a party that left, and his team had a meeting of wine-fired around 40 to 50 people.
But in the video aired by ITV, Allegra Stratton, who later became Johnson’s press secretary, was shown in the 2020 street training with a daily briefing that laughed and joked about the meeting.
Furore came when the government weighed whether to impose new restrictions on the public to try to defeat the new Coronavirus variant.
It follows a series of scandals that have led opposition politicians to accuse the Johnson government of chronism and corruption, and behave as if the rules do not apply them.
In that video, a Johnson advisor asked Stratton: “I just saw a report about Twitter that there was a Christmas Christmas party on Friday night – did you recognize the report?” Stratton, stood in front of the British flag in the official street speech, chuckled and said: “I go home.” He then laughed and smiled.
“Wait.
Wait.
Um.
Er.
Yes.” He seemed to lose words and stare.
Universal critical newspapers.
“A sick joke,” read the title of banner in a daily letter, the largest selling newspaper in the UK.
“Party clown No.
10″ Metro said.
Guardian said: “PM Accused of lying after the number 10 of the team filmed joked about the party.” The Conservative Party of the Roger Gale party said that if the House of Commons had been misleading at the party then it would be a problem with resignation.
The leader of the Opposition Labor Party, Keir Starmer, said the video was an insult for those who followed the rules of locking when it meant separated from their families during Christmas.
“They have the right to hope that the government does the same thing.
To lie and laugh about lies is embarrassing,” Starmer said in a statement.
“The prime minister now needs to come clean, and apologize.” Ian Blackford from the Scottish National Party, the second largest opposition party in Parliament, called for Johnson to retreat.
