LONDON: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson returned to the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow on Wednesday to issue a last call in the countries to “pull all the stops” just like the first draft of an agreement.
The draft, dubbed “closing decision”, determined what the negotiator expects will be the result of COP26 talks and encourages developed countries to increase support for developing countries.
This sets central ambitions for countries to cut emissions to avoid increasing temperatures above 1.5 degrees Celsius.
“We need to spend all the stops if we will save 1.5c in our grasp,” Johnson said, because the draft was released.
“The negotiating team is doing a loud yard in the last days of COP26 to change the promise to be an action on climate change.
There are still many things to do,” he said.
“Today I will meet with ministers and negotiators to hear about where progress has been made and where the gap must be bridged.
This is greater than one country and it’s time for the nation to set aside differences and gather for our planet.
And people.
We, “he added.
Negotiators from 197 parties, including India, are in intensive talks to reach an agreement on various major problems, including a general time frame for national commitment to reducing emissions and methodologies agreed upon to the countries to report their climate action.
This important technical point will help ensure that commitment is translated into action.
The attitude of India is for the COP26 cover decision to remain within the limits of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Paris Agreement Starting in 2015.
The negotiators also work to approve financial progress for the countries that are most vulnerable to climate change and To overcome the problem of loss and damage in developing countries.
Downing Street said negotiations had run with a series of government and private sector commitments about coal, cars, cash and trees made along two weeks of COP26 under the British presidency, with the aim of maintaining the 1.5C target to live.
In Glasgow, Boris Johnson will join UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and also met with representatives from the head of the Delegation negotiation team and the observer group.
Chairman of India’s negotiator at the conversation, the Ministry of Environment and Changing the additional Secretary of Richa Sharma, has led the discussion and earlier this week talking about a more serious approach to climate financing on behalf of basic countries – consisting of Brazil, South Africa, India and China .
The 26th party (COP) UNFCCC conference was opened at Glasgow with the world leader summit last week and arranged to conclude on Friday.
