Ahmedabad: A 27-year-old woman with a history of travel to England was found infected with Omicron Coronavirus variant at Vadodara Gujarat on Monday, officials said, adding that patients did not show symptoms.
This is the third omicron case in Vadodara and 12th in Gujarat.
The woman had returned from England on December 13 through Mumbai.
He has been tested negatively for Coronavirus at the airport, a health department official said.
Later, he complained of fever and gave samples for Covid-19 tests, reports that confirmed the Koronavirus infection, the official said.
The sample is then sent for genome sequencing.
The test report on Monday confirmed that he was infected with omicron tension, he said.
The only two contact near the woman has been tested negatively for Coronavirus.
Asymptomatic and current female patients, in isolation at a private hospital, the official added.
Previously, the couple, who had returned to Vadodara from Zambia, had been positively tested for the Omicron variant.
Apart from Vadodara, omicron cases were reported from Letters, Jamnagar, Anand, Gandhinagar, and Mehsana Regency.
