LONDON: As an English-Indian Diaspora Gear to buy gold on a favorable occasion of Dhanteras, the Royal Mint England has launched the first first gold bar for celebrating Diwali.
The bar was carved with pictures of Hindu Goddess Lakshmi.
The Lakshmi bar – which contains 20G fine gold with Lakshmi engraved into precious metals – has been designed by the designer of the Royal Mint Designer Emma Noble product, through close collaboration with Shree Swaminarayan temple in Cardiff to ensure cultural accuracy.
The retail bar at 1,080 pounds (1 lakh) and will go on sale at 9am in the UK on Tuesday on the Royal Mint website.
The bar, the first bar Mint Royal featuring Hindu god or Indian design, following the success of Henna’s inspired packaging for the regular 1g and 5g gold gold bar last year.
The bar will be blessed at the ceremony Diwali Temple Shree Swaminarayan as part of their Puja Lakshmi on November 4, with Mint Kingdom officials present.
Andrew Dickey, Director of the Division for precious metals at the Royal Mint, said: “With gold being a traditional and profitable gift during the Diwali Festival, we want to develop products that combine beauty and tradition, but with a modern twist.” This design displays God standing on Lotus with Lotus in each hand.
