UK urges pregnant women to get a vaccinated variant risk

LONDON: The British Health Authority has urged more pregnant women to get Jab Coronavirus after a national study finding the Delta variant seems to increase the risk of severe symptoms.
England’s top midwives on Friday urged pregnant women to get Jab when new data showed an increase in severe disease among pregnant women being treated at a virus hospital.
Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent, Head of Midwifery Officer for England, wrote to GPS and midwives urged them to encourage pregnant women to get Jab.
He said he called a pregnant woman to “protect themselves and her baby”.
Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG) and the Royal College of Bidin also recommend vaccination of pregnant women.
The health of the British people say will recommend pregnant women get a modern vaccine and Pfizer because they have been given to more than 130,000 pregnant women in the United States.
A paper based on national data compiled by the British Midwifery Supervision System, which was published online on July 25, found that the proportion of pregnant women was hospitalized with medium infection until severe rose “significantly” after the Delta variant became dominant in the month May.
The paper by Oxford University researchers found that pregnant women who were hospitalized during Delta waves were more likely to get pneumonia, with the third require respiratory support.
“It is very concerned that the acceptance of pregnant women to hospitals with Covid-19 is increasing and that pregnant women seem to be more severely affected by the Delta variant of this disease,” said Head of Study Research Marian Knight, Professor of Mother and Children.
Health population at Oxford University.
None of the 3,000 pregnant women who were hospitalized with the symptoms of the virus since February were fully vaccinated, the research said.
This study did not see pregnant women with minor infections treated outside the hospital.
Britain has recommended vaccination for pregnant women since April but takeup is very low compared to the general population, this paper said, blaming the wrong information triggered by changing the advice at the beginning of the vaccine launch.
“The findings of this study greatly highlight the urgent need for an international approach to addressing this wrong information and increasing absorption of vaccines during pregnancy,” he said.
A survey by Rcog in May found that 58 percent of pregnant women offered vaccines had refused, with most say they were afraid of harming babies or waiting for more information about salvation.
