U’khand: 10 West Bengal Trekker Dies, Six Lost

Kolkata: The state government tried to bring back the body of 10 trekkers from Bengal killed in the avalanche in Uttarakhand.
At least six others are gone.
Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee has asked officials to stay in touch with the Uttarakhand government so that the body can be flown to the beginning.
The country also made arrangements to help 150-odd tourists stranded in Uttarakhand home when the weather improved.
Among the dead trekkers who have expedition on the Harsil-Chitkul route are Basak Sadhan Thupukur (63), Shibayan Das (28), Pritam Roy (22), Sagar De (27), Chandra Sekhar Das (34) and Sarit Das Sekhar (35).
Richard Mandal New (30), Saurav Ghosh (32), Bikash Makal (45) and Tanumay Tiwari (34), part of group six of Nepalganj in 24 parganas, also reported to be dead.
But the Uttarakhand police have not received information about other team members, Sukhen Maji.
The ITBP search and rescue team has found the bodies of two trekkers along the Harsil-Chitkul track at Himachal Pradesh; From them, someone was reported from Bengal but any other details have not been released.
Another group of six trekkers, including five from Bengal, has been lost from Glacier Sunerdhunga from Bageshwar in Uttarakhand.
A porter, who survived, said the others in the group had been buried under the snow but there had been no official confirmation of death.
Kalighat Shibayan Das left on October 11 for the Chitkul-Harsil route.
He called his brother, Subhojit, on October 14 to say he would rise to a higher height the next day and will come out of the mobile network.
“He joined a group of trekkers there we did not know.
They should go down to a lower altitude on October 22.
But the avalanche ended everything,” said Subhojit.
Shibayan has done a similar expedition at least five times.
Basak from Thakur thanks to Blizzard near Lake Lamkhaga.
Basak, a veteran trekker, has joined four friends from Howrah and Nadia, who all disappeared.
He left the city on October 10, which last spoke to the family on October 11.
They got news about his death from Nabanna.
The family said the Uttarakhand government had their five lost teams.
“No one was confirmed.
We contacted the family guide and learned five bodies – including my father – taken to Bagheswar.
I urged the administration to bring the bodies back,” Putri Basak said.
Tiwari haridebpur, which is part of the Nepalganj team, is an ordinary trekker and goes for another expedition on October 12.
His family urged him not to go on this year’s trip without ensuring the weather.
He last spoke with his family on October 14.
Among the teams, no information was found about Maji.
Maji Laboni’s wife said the family asked her not to join the trip.
“But he ignored him and left on October 12.
They went to Uttarakashi and should travel to Harsil, when they were arrested in the avalanche,” he said.
Bishnupur Mla Dilip Mandal said the settings to get the body on Sunday.
