Lucknow / Noida: The days after the police chief sent an internal order to police senior officials about restrictions and protocols to be followed during the Muharram religious month, part of the community, including scholars and spokesman for religious organizations, has expressed a ‘language’ memo displeasure.
Internal orders, which were issued on July 31, were aimed at the Police Commissioner, senior police supervisor (SSP) and SPS, and detailed how the police could ensure that Muharram ‘was celebrated’ in the state with compliance with the right behavior and by keeping in mind restrictions in place to overcome a pandemic.
It also asked the police chief and SP / SSP not to give permission for the procession in Muharram this year.
However, the letter led the Secretary General of the Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Hind, Maulana Kalbe Jawad, to state on Monday that communication with DGP rose only after the document was withdrawn.
The Shiite All-India Personal Law Council (AISPLB) also holds a meeting and calls the order of “Chargesheet against the Shiite Community”.
