ULB Polling: Congress outperformed BJP in power

Bengaluru: The opposition congress has surpassed BJP in power in a poll held for 58 Urban Local Agencies (ULBs) spread across 20 districts in Karnataka, which it produced on Thursday.
Of the total 1,184 wards who conducted a poll from Ulb on Monday, Congress won 501 while BJP won 433 and JD in 45, said the State Election Commission.
According to the SEC, the remaining 205 seats were bagged by independent and small parties.
The results were seen as a warning bell for BJP ahead of the 2023 assembly poll, and as signs of anti-breeders, even when the party maintained a loss in concentrated minority voters.
In what was also seen as a personal setback to the Head of the Minister of Bukavaraj Bommai, Congress managed to defend the Bankapur City Council and Guttal Panchayat City, in the constituency of Shiggaon.
BJP has also lost urban local bodies in Turf, a few ministers such as B Panchayat Nutani City B.
Congress, which is expected to control more than two dozen ULB, is seeing the results as an indication of the things that will come for 2023 election elections.
Opposition leader Siddaramaah said the result was a reflection of “hopeful governance” BJP.
Meanwhile, Randeep Singh Surjewala, who was responsible for the affairs of the Congress in Karnataka, congratulated the Head of the State Party D K Shivakumar, MLA and all senior party leaders on the election results.
“Their sustainable hard work and the triction of acting will bring Congress back to the country and lead a new era to place Karnataka as the number one country in development,” he said in a statement.
Although BJP has succeeded in winning more seats than Congress in the five city council that goes for polls, the latter has climbed up on the city council and the city of the city box.
Noted that BJP’s performance has improved compared to the last time and it could be better, the head of the Bommai Minister said, “If you observe, because these places have the concentration of minority societies, we have not received good results, but this time because of efforts , in places like Gadag and others, we have been successful.
“On BJP’s defeat in his constituency, he said,” We have never won there (in bankapur), a minority voter is 65 percent, will not be right for me to say more .
Similarly guttal ….
We will continue our development work there too.
“Bommai more hit back at the Congress saying that they dreamed of power after the assembly polls.
“Their dreams will continue to be a dream.
BJP will complete the term and will continue to remain in power for five years after 2023, up to 2028,” he added.
