Dibrugarh: An Ulfa Senior Cadre (Independent), Purnima Bora aka Mitu Asom, was arrested in operations with Rifles Assam and the local police from Tinkopani reserve forests near the Pradesh Assam-Arunachal border in Tinsukia District on Sunday.
Tinsukia SP Debojit Deuri said Bora recently left its basic camp in Myanmar because of his health problems.
He was arrested when he tried to sneak into the Tinsukia district through Arunachal Pradesh.
“He is an old ULFA-I cadre and joined militant clothing in 2000.
He belonged to the Sarupathar area of the Golaghat district.
After his arrest, we immediately claimed to be to Tinsukia’s civil hospital for treatment.
His health condition was very bad,” SP said.
