Thane: The Canporator of the City of Ulhasnagar corporation on Thursday issued a unanimous resolution demanding that UMC store Hospital 10 Crore in the budget to pay for up to two years for those who will shift from their homes that have been declared dangerous.
The resolution states that UMC will also bear the costs of 116 structural audits of dangerous buildings in the city.

UMC has served notifications to more than 1500 buildings asking them to complete structural audits.
A separate evacuation notification was presented to 116 ‘very dangerous’ buildings, which were built between 1994 and 1998, where many buildings were built using low-quality Ulwe sand.
After notifications served, UMC, without making alternative arrangements for residents to live in transit camps, have cut off water and electricity supplies from 47 buildings from 116.
It has killed more than 2000 people in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, when all People have faced the financial crisis.
It resulted in the affected citizens and opposition BJP and RPI leaders targeting the body of the Civic, and last week, they even protested against UMC.
Seeing the demands of residents, the Mayor of UMC Leelabai Aashan from the Ruling Shiv Sena Party on Thursday has held a special public body meeting for dangerous building problems.
Aashan told Tii, “To provide assistance to residents living in dangerous buildings, the Canporator of all parties issued a round resolution.
According to that, UMC will bear all structural audit costs 116 buildings and civil bodies will also maintain separate funds 10 Crore to pay for their rent which will be evacuated from these buildings up to two years “.
Jeevan Idnani, another canporator of the Ruler Alliance, Sai Party, said, “This resolution has also been forwarded to build a transit camp in the city by ordering RS 20 Crore funds at UMC.
Also decided that UMC will accommodate residents first, before evacuating them from Any building “.
