The United Nations: Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres has appointed Shombi Sharp of the United States as the UN population coordinator in India with the approval of the host government, according to a statement.
Sharp has “devoted more than 25 years of his career to promote international inclusive and sustainable development, bringing the experience he has obtained at the United Nations and external to this new position”, the United Nations said in a statement issued on Monday.
In the world organization, he recently served as the UN population coordinator in Armenia.
Sharp has held several leadership positions in the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), where the resident representatives in Armenia, representatives of residents in Georgia, Deputy Director of State in Lebanon, the leader of the HIV / AIDS practice team for UNDP Europe and the Commonwealth of State Independent countries in the Russian Federation, program managers for West Balkans in New York and Resident Representative Assistants at the Russian Federation.
