New Delhi: UN Security Council Resolution on Afghanistan discusses the main problem of India related to the country after the expression by the Taliban, people who are familiar with the problem on Tuesday.
The UN Security Council, under the Indian presidency, on Monday adopted a resolution that demanded that the Afghanistan region should not be used to threaten any country or terrorist shelter.
The people quoted above said the UNSC 2593 resolution discussed the main problem of India related to Afghanistan “at the present”, adding that India played an active role in ensuring the passage.
There were some concerns in India on the possibility of increasing activities of various terror groups, including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, from the Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
They said India had been continuously related to the last few days with the Unsc key members about this problem, and the problem was met by the Minister of External Affairs, Jaisankar’s telephone conversation with Blinken class secretary.
“As an Unsc president, India felt it was important that remembering the seriousness of the situation, there must be a security council resolution,” said one of the people quoted above.
Resolution demands that the Afghanistan region should not be used to threaten or attack any country or to protect and train terrorists.
“It also discussed Indian direct concerns about facilitating travel from Afghanistan, including Kabul airport.
This will discuss Indian citizens stranded in the country and Afghan citizens, including a minority, who wants to travel to India,” said the person.
People say the resolution also discusses the issue of humanitarian assistance, human rights, inclusive and negotiations.
“We believe that this decision by the UN Security Council has an important attitude on the development of development in Afghanistan,” said the second person.
“This is a matter of satisfaction that our presidency can contribute to serious international considerations from this main problem,” he said.
