Gurgaon: Residents of Sushant Lok-1 and South City-2 have obtained erratic water supply for more than a month now.
They said they received water only four to five days a week, and that also for a limited period of time.
Despite several complaints to the corporation of Gurgaon City (MCG), there are no actions taken to improve the water distribution system, they accuse.
“We have received an inadequate water supply for a month now, but the civil body has not resolved the problem.
The supply is limited to only 20-30 minutes at low pressure.
Some C-block lines don’t have a drop of water in the last three days,” said Vanita Pasricha, SUSHANT LOK-1 residents.
“Water demand sees a significant increase in the summer, but the authorities do not make efforts to overcome our concerns despite repeated requests,” he added.
Residents also complained that dirty water was supplied to them.
Manish Kumar, who lives in the colony, said: “We are supplying muddy water, which can cause serious health hazards for us.
It also spoils the storage tank and damages our household appliances.
The situation becomes worse day after day and the supply of water Erratic gives us a difficult time in the heat.
“They accused the builder of violating the rules and have used drinking water for construction purposes that have exacerbated the water crisis in the area.
Residents blame the authorities because they do not make water abuse and theft checks.
They also show that water is being wasted through a leak because the pipeline is quite old and not repaired on time.
In the southern city-2, residents were forced to rely on private tankers to meet their daily needs.
On day water is provided, the pressure is too low, causing shortcomings, they say.
“For the past two days, there has been no water supply in block-d.
When we approach GMDA or MCG officials, they continue to blame each other instead of resolving the problem,” Bhupinder Singh said, a resident.
“This is an old problem and we face a water crisis every week, which forces us to spend each RS 500 extra for water tankers to meet our daily needs.

While the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is responsible for supplying water to these colonies, MCG maintains the management of water distribution to households.
