Margao: With Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar who has resigned from the legislative assembly and joined the congress on Sunday, politics in the election guiding interesting battles.
Political observer said that Gaonkar with some unstable decisions had emerged as a politician “unsure of himself” but agreed that he had the opportunity to maintain a seat if BJP could not control the rebellion that had been arranged in his camp.
Gaonkar, after confusing Congress in June 2021, suddenly changed nails and began making progress towards TMC by sending supporters to join the party.
What then caused an eyebrow to be lifted was his presence at the meeting of the President of the Forward Goa Party (GFP) Vijai Sardesai and the opposition leader drawn for KAmat with the leader of the Rahul Gandhi Congress, more than a month ago.
“I have a vision for the development of Sanguem, and five years is too short to achieve this.
I am sure to win the 2022 election,” Gaonkar said.
Gaonkar has defeated Subhash Phal Dessai (BJP) and Savtri Kavlekar (Congress) in the 2017 Assembly poll, Gaonkar has expanded support to the government led by BJP, but it is interesting in Midway after the difference with the Minister of Chief Pramod Sawant for the issue of factory awakening cooperative sugar Sanjivani.
While Phal Dessai is a strong competitor for BJP tickets, what makes the problem worse for BJP is a claim to be at stake by Deputy Chief Minister of Kavlekar, Savitri, on BJP tickets.
Significantly, some of those who work closely with Phal Dessai in 2012 and 2017 assembly polls are now a campaign manager of the Savitri election program.
Fal Dessai, however, was not affected, and denied the cracks among party workers in Sanguem even when he emitted the belief that he would pocket this party ticket this time.
Savitri, in a power show, held a public meeting in Sanguem recently, where the former Maid Phal Dessai threw a challenge to him, even when Phal Dessai rejected it indifferently.
“My support base is intact,” he said.
Phal Dessai also hit Gaonkar because of his failure to carry out development work in the election.
“He also failed to maintain a relationship with people.
If there is, Gaonkar only managed to take Sanguem to retreat five years,” he said.
Political observers maintain a close role in developments.
“If BJP fails to control the rebellion, which is likely to be regulated after the ticket is announced, the results of the election will be a guess of anyone,” said a political commentator.
