Cape Town: South African Head Coach Mark Boucher, faces charges that can cause his dismissal, on Sunday praise the progress made by his team.
Speaking to the media for the first time since he was served with a list of accusations of “dirty violations”, Boucher said he was proud of the players.
South Africa finished double the test and one day series against India with a four-time four-day victory in the third day in Newlands in Cape Town.
South African Cricket announced on Thursday that the boucher would face hearing formal discipline into allegations of racism related to songs about former teammate Paul Adams and assistant coach Sidelining Enoch Nkwe.
Since the official announcement, South African media has reported that the seven-page power filling sheet contains many allegations and also includes statements with CSA that “the nature of your violation is a clothesline and serious traits to guarantee termination of your work relationship.” It has also been reported that Graeme Smith, Director of Cricket CSA, will face charges relating to the job of Boucher.
There has been no official confirmation on charges against Smith, whose contract ends at the end of March.
During his press conference on Sunday, the boucher was asked about the disturbing effect on the team’s accusation against him.
“I can’t answer it – not now, however,” he said.
Instead the boucher focuses on the progress made by the team.
“The progress is good.
I think we turned a while ago from a team’s perspective but we explained we needed the results to support it.” We tried several things in the Covid Times.
We have to get a deeper team.
We provide many opportunities for many players and I think we started reaping rewards now.
“Bouchher said he was happy that South Africa had the command hit and depth in speed and spin bowling.
He stressed that the team was in a good environment.” If you walk into the dressing room now, people are clearly happy that they have won the series but Their feet are on the ground, “he said.
