Nagpur: Deputy Chancellor of Nagpur University, Subhash Chaudhari, has suddenly stopped the function of the facts’ findings that asked for charges of private universities, especially the Faculty of Engineering, did not pay salaries to staff since the last half of the year.
VC has now formed another panel to investigate the same allegations below it, with pro-VC Sanjay Dudhe, and four Deans as members, said Senate members.
Among the ten universities named after the previous panel, Chaudhari was related to the JD College of Engineering, where the principal before joining NU as a pro-vc.
Even the science and technology Dean Prashant Maheshwari is the same college director before.
Both are part of the new VC panel.
The first panel under the Senior Management Board of Rajesh Bhhoyar has submitted an initial report in August, where he appointed ten universities that allegedly not pay salaries to teaching and non-teaching staff, and also harassed them for financial losses due to covid- 19 pandemics and a series of locking.
This list includes eight engineering institutions, one management institution, and one offers a general course.
The problem arose after the Member of the Management Board of Nitin Kongre raised this problem during the Wednesday Senate meeting, asked the VC of what actions had been taken against highly universities.
VC refused to divulge details at him at home, stating that the problem was waiting.
Toi has highlighted the fate of employees from two engineering colleges on August 14 while quoting complaints submitted by them with central and state authorities, including Aicte.
According to Congre, NU has even sent a letter to universities that warn them to release staff wages or face strict actions such as disafiated, but no one moves from then, and employees continue to suffer today.
Other panel members told Ti they were surprised by the VC decision to end their term of office suddenly, even when they had not submitted their final report and their investigation was ongoing.
They accused him of giving up on pressure from private universities, especially his own, just as difficult as they had paid full wages.
They called VC’s steps as a “conflict of interest” which was clear because both he and Maheshwari were former JD College employees, who were named by the Bhoard panel.
“After NU’s letter, several universities released a wage of parts for disadvantaged staff.
Universities quoted the reasons for the failure of the Maharashtra government to release scholarship contributions to them.
However, we have known that even released, still universities are reluctant to continue the funds to Their teaching staff and non-teaching, “they said.
In a temporary report submitted to Chaudhari, the Bhoyar panel recommended NU have to issue directives to all universities not to press their employees.
It also recommends that universities must release all pending wages in a week and submit evidence, including bank details, to NU.
However, almost no college has sent their details so far.
Urmila Dabir, Vishnu Changde and Deputy Registrar Raman Meutane are other members in this panel.
