Chandrapur: Undertrial murder accused, nesting in a central prison here, allegedly hanging himself in his cell on Wednesday.
The source said Umesh Naitam (25), a native of Gadchiroli Regency, was arrested in connection with the murder that took place in Sakhetola Village on November 17, 2020.
His trial was underway at the session court at Gadchiroli.
According to sources, the prison guard found Naitam hung in his cell in the afternoon and lifted an alarm.
Immediately, a prison doctor was called who said detention died.
The source in the prison said Naitam was cooperative and used to serve food to fellow inmates.
He is also used to talking to family members on the telephone with the help of prison administration.
The authorities did not understand why Naitam took extreme steps from the final life.
Pi Sudhakar Ambnore Chandrapur Police Station, where this case has been registered, confirmed suicide in prison.
This is the fourth death in the Central Jail Chandrapur in recent months.
Two of them, including Naitam, suicide, while two have died of corona and cancer infections.
