Nagpur: Vivek Palatkar, that had murdered five members of their household at 2018, is learnt to have assaulted three of his fellow offenders in barrack number seven from the Nagpur Central Jail on Sunday.
He was changed to high security prison (known as’anda mobile’) after the episode.
It is learnt that Palatkar wrapped a brick in a towel before going it Raju Verma, that had been grievously hurt.
Two additional culprits, Atmaram Ray and Ganesh Thakur, were injured in the assault when they hurried to intervene.
Jail police said Palatkar began attacking Verma with no provocation or previous competition.
The prison guard had been counting on the offenders and participated in a roll call once the attack happened.
Dhantoli authorities have filed a case of attempt to murder from Palatkar after a complaint lodged by the prison authorities.
