Mumbai: The 35-year-old undertrial was found hanging on the toilet at Arthur Road Jail on Thursday.
The body was sent to the JJ Hospital for Post Mortem.
The reason for suicide is unknown, police said.
Undullialial, Haneef Shaikh, was previously arrested by police JJ Marg in the case of theft and sent to prison, was found hanging on the prison toilet around 5am on Thursday.
He had used the sheets to hang himself in the prison toilet, police said.
“There is no rotten game found.
The reason for suicide is still unknown,” said a police officer from the NM Joshi Marg police station where the case of unintentional death had been registered.
The prison source said that Panchnama was carried out before the judge.
