Jaipur: The unemployment rate in Rajasthan has reached 27% in December, the second highest in the country after Haryana at 34.1%.
Recruiters in the country said that high levels can be attributed to the deterioration of the tourism industry and travel that contributed most of the creation of employment in the state.
While tourism returns to life shortly before the third wave, the recovery is uneven.
The hotel and restaurants at the top end of the value chain are better positioned to take advantage of revival, many hotels at the lower end which produce a large amount of work cannot run operations even closer to capacity.
“December 2021 is certainly a better month compared to the same month in 2020.
But the full workforce employed by the industry in 2019 is much higher than in December 2021.
It can be the reason why the unemployment rate does not look good,” said Alka Batra , Director of Aegis employment, a recruitment company in the city.
The service sector has become a combination because Covid’s pandemic has limited IT growth.
Physical events have not restarted as before in normal time.
Batra said can be a dampener.
Continuous unemployment over 20% over the past year shows that tourism and travel that has resisted new acquisition.
Representatives of various manufacturing segments have said that they almost return to normal.
For example, the jewelry sector has witnessed deficiencies.
Handicrafts, textiles and other sectors almost return to health.
“I think it’s just a tourism industry that can’t produce work.
Otherwise, all sectors have more or less recovering.
Travel and tourism have a big trace on work.
If this sector does not revive, recruitment will remain depressed.
The industry has not been hit by the industry .
This is a growing segment in Rajasthan, “said an industrial representative.
