NEW DELHI: There is a delay in “unexplained and unexplained” in prosecution of many corruption cases that occurred during the deputy work period, Rajya Sabha’s member, Subramanian Swamy said in the letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Swamy also said that there was a “lack of enthusiasm” prosecutors in these cases.
“There are, without a doubt, the unshakable delay and cannot be explained in the prosecution of many corruption cases by the government, which there has been corruption in the working period in the middle,” he said in the letter.
Especially for the case of the SCAM, Aircel-Maxis and Herald National, which involved the leaders of the Senior Congress P Chidambaram and Sonia Gandhi, he said there was no finality or belief in these cases.
“In the past seven years, there has been no finality or belief in these cases which are clearly caused by the lack of attorney’s enthusiasm …” said Swamy.
He said this delay hurt the BJP image that made corruption in the battle of the election campaign.
“I respectfully urge you to provide direct instructions to the head of the agent, legal and prosecutors to sit together, if necessary, and work in coordination and to monitor the progress of the case periodically,” Swamy said.
He further suggested that the inter-departmental monitoring agency be formed, which worked regularly, consisting of heads and prosecutors agents to ensure that the anti-corruption case was pursued by diligently.
