NEW DELHI: Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankar on Wednesday rejected the allegations of Bannerjee’s assembly of Banerjee “disruption in the function of the house” and called allegations “unfortunate and distance themselves from reality.” Biman Banerjee complained to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla about Dhankhar’s “disorder” during the virtual conference of all Indian speakers recently.
Responding to the accusation, Dhankar, in a letter, said the attitude taken by Biman Banerjee at the speaker conference was not in the consultance with the office he held.
By stating that he was more sad than being sad in the holder taken by the speaker, Dhankar wondered why Biman Banerjee did not negotiate with him about this problem even.
Backing back at Biman Banerjee, Dhankar accused the speaker of the Bengal Assembly to compromise with a settlement at the governor’s office on many occasions and quoted some of them in his letter.
The governor also rejected the allegations of sitting on the bill delivered by the Assembly and said the accusation was “losing a factual foundation.” “No bill, save one, is waiting for consideration at the end of me and there is also a delay in the response from the concerned,” the governor said in a letter written to the Bengal Assembly speaker.
In the letter, Dhankar detailed the status of the delayed bill and blamed the related department delay.
The governor urged the speaker for “new start” and also emphasized the need to work together in a harmonious way to enforce and justify the spirit of the constitutional responsibility they hold.
Governor of Jagdeep Dhankar and the Government of Mamata Banerjee have been in the loggerheads over some problems.
The governor has been openly critical of the legal and order situation in the state.
The Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee has called him a corrupt man and has claimed that his name was present in the case of Jain Hawala.
