Lyons: An officer accidentally fired his gun during the struggle while the police made arrest on the outskirts of Chicago, injuring two other officers, the authorities said.
Chicago’s officer saw a car on Wednesday night which was bound to murder and police helicopters to track it to the gas station in Lyons, police said.
When people from the car out of the gas station officer surrounded them and a struggle occurred, Chicago police escort David Brown said.
During the struggle, an officer accidentally took out his weapon, said Brown, and the police believed one bullet hit two officers.
Someone was hit on the arm and the other on the shoulder, said Brown.
Officers were taken to the hospital and their injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, police said.
Two people from the car that had been followed by police placed and pistols were found in the car, police said.
The officer who fired his gun was placed on administrative assignments, police said, and the shooting was being investigated.
