Union Budget 2022: MP BJD Rues Cutting Funds for Higher Education

New Delhi: MP BJD Bhartruhari Mahtab on Tuesday praised Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to present a budget that put a road map to support growth while declaring concerns that deducting allocations for higher education, rural development can hamper growth.
Participating in a discussion about the budget at Lok Sabha, Mahtab said the Minister of Finance needed to be praised when he presented the budget in the midst of a challenging economic environment.

“The budget has put a road map to support growth and place building blocks for long-term development of India,” he said.
Mahtab further said the budget has a “clear intention” and has succeeded in providing allocations in many fields that will contribute to making India developed and modern is inclusive.

The Minister of Finance has signaled a 34.5 percent increase in the Central Government’s capital expenditure plan to Rs 7.5 lakh crore in the financial year 2022-23,” he said.
The focus on the technology and infrastructure led growth will have a positive impact, Mahtab said that adding developments led by the technology proposed in health and education will help both sectors.

I hope in this budget we will find something for the poor city but not mentioned about Mnrega for them” said MP BJD.
The budget will be better if it focuses more on problems that affect ordinary people such as inflation and unemployment, he said.
MP from Odisha, Mahtab also mentioned how the country staggered in several problems related to the procurement of the Food Corporation of India.
“The government intends to focus on the long term and create the right ecosystem for overall economic development.
Now it is important that all stakeholders, including the private sector, must harmonize themselves with the government’s vision, only we can see a better nation,” he said.
