Union budget: with RS 5.3CR, PJK gets a 3.8% increase

Chandigarh: The center allocates Rs 5,382.79 Crore to the city for the 2022-23 fiscal year in the Union budget presented on Tuesday.

Under the minor segment, RS 82.38 Crore is given under the Category of Social Security and Welfare, Rs 47 Crore for Forests and Wildlife, Rs 20 Crore for Workers, Rs 14 Crore for Food and Supply and 72 Lakh Rs for Rural Development.
The Ministry save Rs 887.70 Crore under the “Other” category.
This money can be spent by UT according to the needs outside of this department.
Commenting on health wings, the Ministry of Finance said, “The money can be used to increase 50 public health centers to hospital 250 beds, strengthening 50 polyclinic beds, rural areas and health centers, employee insurance and other health schemes and development centers of trauma Regional, Institute of Mental Health, and Institute of Rehabilitation for Intellectual Disabilities.
“Under the category of police housing and allied works, the Ministry said the funds could be used for police housing and allied works such as the development of infrastructure, building and home renovation.
