New Delhi: Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the bill to revoke the three controversial agricultural laws.
The government has registered ‘Agriculture Law revoked Bill, 2021’ in the legislative business to be taken at Lok Sabha during the parliamentary winter session starting November 29.
Agricultural law revokes Bill, 2021 seeks to revoke trade in farmers’ products and trade (promotion and facilitation) of Law, 2020, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) of the Price Guarantee Agreement, Agricultural Services Act, 2020, and Essential Commodity Act (Amendment) , 2020.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that the government will attract three agricultural laws after failing to convince the sure part of farmers.
The decision of the central government to attract agricultural laws came almost a year after thousands of farmers marched to the national capital and launched agitation for months against the law.
The Prime Minister also announced that the government would form a committee to work on a new framework for the price of minimum support (MSP).
Apart from the climb by the government, the farming union said they would continue their agitation on other demands, including the law of MSP and dismissal of the Union Minister Ajay Mishra for the violence at Lakhimpur Kheri.
